Mozilla logo

The road forward in Mozilla is to use Thunderbird, Firefox and Sunbird as shown below. Remove Mozilla Suite now and upgrade to FF, TB and SB.

Thunderbird logo

Want even more from an email client? Try the latest offering from the Mozilla stable – Thunderbird. It’s fast and flexible and is the replacement to the Mozilla email client.

Handy Extensions for Thunderbird:

enigmail – secure email between parties requires GnuPG

FoxClocks

ConQuery

Addressbooks Synchroniser

Lightning

Display Mail Route – very useful – proves that that “PayPal” warning came from Thailand!

Display Mail User Agent  - shows what software sent the message – often tells you that it was a bulk mailer and not an individual.

Latest updates for FF Themes and Add-ons can be found at

Themes: (how buttons look, etc.)

Many themes are pretty tiring, the new default theme for FF is not very good.

You can make FF2 look like FF1.5 by using the Winestripe theme. This not yet out for FF3.

My installed Add-Ons

To make many things work in FF you will need Plug-ins:

Very nice VRML plug-in  (3D space viewing) not that important

The Most Important Ones   (without these you will be asked to install Java plug-in, etc.)

Mailman logo

Mailman

List manager

Google logo

Not the Google version, please read on.

PhpSitemapNG

A sitemap generator which works! Easily used to send sitemap information (using cron) automatically to Google Sitemaps. Cron involves using Lynx if your PHP is part of Apache as opposed to a CGI install. Ours is Apache, making Lynx work with cron was easy. The Google Python version is very cumbersome and doesn’t site crawl.
